Raison D’être is a French term meaning “the reason or justification for existence.”
This can mean different things to different people. For some, it might mean their career accomplishments. For others, it might mean a life that they have been able to build for themselves, or a sport or hobby they excel at. My raison d’être is to travel.
I believe that travel is something that everybody who is able should experience in their lifetime. It opens up the traveler to new cultures, new languages, new experiences. It allows you to see the world from a different point of view. Travel can mean a lot of things to a lot of different people, but for all, it means new experiences and an open mind.
To travel is to put yourself out there in the world and to dive head first into the unknown. Those kinds of experiences not only make one stronger, but they make one wiser as well. To travel is to learn how to navigate unfamiliar situations and to be brave in the face of uncertainty. Those who travel know that there is no better classroom than the great wide world, and that to travel is to never stop learning and growing as a person.
