Wanderlust Wednesday: South Africa

It’s another Wanderlust Wednesday and today I’m dreaming about South Africa. Let’s go along together on a journey to the beautiful country at the Southern tip of the African continent.

Our first stop is Cape Town, where we will take a beautiful hike to the top of the famous Table Mountain and a stroll through the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens before having a fabulous lunch at one of Cape Town’s many incredible restaurants (after all, Cape Town is a foodie’s heaven).

Our second stop is the Kruger National Park, where we will go on a safari through some incredible landscapes and see iconic African animals such as lions, zebras, and giraffes.

Next we’re off to the Drakensberg & Ukhahlamba-Drakensberg Park. Here we will discover incredible rugged mountain landscapes.

Last, we’ll finish off our tour in the Winelands with a wine tasting tour of some of South Africa’s best wineries. What better way to end our little journey?

Have you ever been to South Africa? What did you love the most? Do you have any tips for those of us who would like to travel there?

  1. I was born in South Africa and we grew up going to Kruger Park on safari about once a year. (Much like American kids go to Disneyland.)

I went hiking in the Drakensburg as a teenager and to Cape Town often for school vacations. The beauty is so dramatic and vast that I am ” spoiled” in many ways… Definitely a beach “snob.”

Thanks for the good memories your post brings back,
