Occasionally, I feature sponsored posts on this site. However, I only ever promote products and services that I believe in and would use myself. Today I’m excited to be partnering with Maxine from www.bungeegirl.com. I’ve written this article after checking out the app for myself and I’ve got to say, I’m pretty excited about using it!
Bungee Girl is an exciting new app that is now available in the iTunes app store. Bungee Girl serves as a network for solo female travelers who are interested in connecting and visiting each other’s cities during their solo travels. The way it works is say you are from New York City and you are interested in traveling to London. You will be connected with Londoners who are interested in traveling solo to New York City.
It’s a great resource because it not only provides a mutually beneficial connection with users who can help one another with tips on where to stay, navigating the city, safety tips, advice on what’s cool to do in the city, and more. Everybody loves to get the lowdown on a travel destination from a local, and Bungee Girl is a great new way to make those local connections with people who love travel just as much as they do.
The app not only helps people find people in their travel destination, but also helps to connect them with like-minded individuals in their home city as well as connections with potential travel buddies. You can make as many friends as you like through the app, so the possibilities are endless. It’s making solo travel work for women!
Travel like a local…
It doesn’t matter if you’re a seasoned solo traveler or if you are considering trying it out for the first time. Either way, Bungee Girl will help you to enhance your trip experience. Having new local friends to hang out with can open up a whole new world to you. Your Bungee Girl friends will be able to share their city with you through a local’s eyes and help you to have an incredible trip full of experiences and insider knowledge you might have otherwise missed out on had you simply relied on the internet or guidebooks. They will also help you with tips only a local would know, such as how to navigate complicated public transit systems, where to find the best cheap food in the city, and more!
Then you can return the favor and help make somebody else’s trip amazing when they come visit you in your home city!
Solo travel is such an amazing thing for people to do in their lives. There are so many opportunities to learn and grow as a person and really find out a lot about yourself. However, as a solo female traveler there are concerns as well, particularly when it comes to safety. It can be a little intimidating to plan a solo trip as a woman in a new, unfamiliar place. With insider local knowledge, you’ll be able to breathe a little easier when you travel knowing you have somebody you can get advice from, hang out with, or even stay with during your journey.
The app uses Facebook signup to verify gender and other key information. Once you’ve signed up, you can create a profile, figure out your travel identity, choose your desired travel locations, and connect with like-minded travelers.
The first release of the app will focus on a few big cities (Sydney, London, Paris, Copenhagen, San Francisco and New York), but additional cities will be added over time based on demand. I’ll certainly be using this app and working to get Los Angeles and San Diego added to the list because it sounds like a fantastic idea! I encourage you to check the app out and connect with some new travel buddies. Declare yourself a Bungee Girl!
