In the wake of recent events in London, I’ve heard a lot of people talking about being worried about traveling to London. I’m on several travel-related groups on Facebook and several people have brought up the, “should I cancel my trip to London?” discussion.

Is it just me, or is it absurdly expensive to rent a car these days? I’ve often found it’s more affordable to fly all the way to Europe where the public transportation and train systems are good than it is for me to fly a few states over and visit a city where I need to rent a car. What gives?

Anyway, my love for Paris leaves me constantly dreaming of those beautiful Parisian streets as I imagine myself sipping un café au lait at a sidewalk cafe. What can I say about Venice that hasn’t been said so many times before? Yes, it’s true that it’s incredibly beautiful. It’s so beautiful it’s almost surreal. In fact, you can find beauty and old-world charm in just about every corner of the city. It doesn’t really matter where you go…you’ll find beauty. Yes, there are iconic, amazing landmarks that you absolutely must see. But there are also amazing places around random corners.
The moment my plane touched down at the Venice airport, all the wariness and exhaustion of the last several days of traveling left me. All I had left was excitement. This was, after all, my first time in Italy, and I was about to explore one of the most beautiful cities on the planet.
