Is it just me, or is it absurdly expensive to rent a car these days? I’ve often found it’s more affordable to fly all the way to Europe where the public transportation and train systems are good than it is for me to fly a few states over and visit a city where I need to rent a car. What gives?
If you’re looking for a great travel destination where a rental car is absolutely not necessary, you may want to think about one of these places.
Anyway, my love for Paris leaves me constantly dreaming of those beautiful Parisian streets as I imagine myself sipping un café au lait at a sidewalk cafe. That’s why today I’m going to indulge in my Francophile desires and devote this Wanderlust Wednesday to my favorite city: Paris, France. Special thanks to the following Instagrammers for fueling my Wanderlust…

In 2007, I traveled to Italy on my honeymoon. Our first stop was Venice, and it was every bit as incredible as I had imagined it would be. Our second stop on the grand Italian tour was Florence. Usually we travel on a budget and stay in some […]
What can I say about Venice that hasn’t been said so many times before? Yes, it’s true that it’s incredibly beautiful. It’s so beautiful it’s almost surreal. In fact, you can find beauty and old-world charm in just about every corner of the city. It doesn’t really matter where you go…you’ll find beauty. Yes, there are iconic, amazing landmarks that you absolutely must see. But there are also amazing places around random corners.
The moment my plane touched down at the Venice airport, all the wariness and exhaustion of the last several days of traveling left me. All I had left was excitement. This was, after all, my first time in Italy, and I was about to explore one of the most beautiful cities on the planet.
It was the first day of my honeymoon and I had just landed in Venice, Italy. It had been a harrowing journey. We had originally planned on flying into Milan, where we would spend the night, explore Milan a bit, and then take the train into Venice the next day.
These plans were foiled, however, by my old nemesis of LAX. I don’t know if you’re noticing a theme in this blog yet or not, but nothing good ever happens to me at LAX. In my opinion, it is a pit of despair. Still, Los Angeles is the cheapest airport to fly out of internationally in my area, so I do find myself there more often than I would like.
Hello, friends! We have a guest post today from a writer named Alexa Vega, who has written about some of the wonderful things to see and do in Croatia. I’ve always wanted to visit Croatia and it’s high on my to-travel list, so I’m pretty excited about some of these suggestions. I hope you enjoy the post!
Alexa also writes for TravelingPride.com, so make sure to check it out for more awesome travel writing.
The truth is, Romania has a lot to recommend it and Transylvania is a real place, and a pretty cool place at that.
So, you’re traveling to the French speaking world? Perhaps it’s a lovely romp through Paris, the city of light, you’ve got in mind? Or perhaps you’re headed towards the beautiful Canadian city of Montreal? Perhaps you’re even planning on a wonderful week in the gorgeous, French speaking Caribbean island of Saint-Martin?
Honestly, you’re not going to have any problems getting around as an English speaker in these places, but I say half the fun of traveling somewhere that they speak a different language is getting to put a little bit of that language into practice!
