I’m not going to say the French rail strike wasn’t a headache, because it was. Oh, it was…but it was also the cause of new opportunities and new experiences. I wouldn’t exactly recommend you try to go to France (or any country) in the midst of a massive transit strike (maybe, you know…wait a few months, unless you’re only going to Paris, in which case you’ll be fine), but I will certainly say that if you already have a trip scheduled during one, you should just adapt and go for it anyway. We ended up having a great time and added some interesting and enriching experiences to the trip. Yeah, parking was a pain in the butt at times. Yeah, driving sucks more than just sitting on a train, reading a book, and watching the world go by, but it was interesting, and there was also something to the freedom of being able to stop when we wanted to stop, and explore when we wanted to explore. And there’s something to that as well.
When you’re traveling, you’re going to want to eat out, though, and that’s where things can get a bit pricey. They don’t have to, though! Some cheap thrills that locals love are of course In-N-Out burger as well as our many taco shops, but if you’re looking for some unique places to have a bite, maybe check out one of these places…
I visited some amazing observation decks when I was there, and I plan on visiting some more the next time I go. If you’re into incredible views as much as I am, you’ll want to put some of these places on your to-do list next time you visit Tokyo.
There are so many amazing places on this beautiful planet of ours that it would be impossible for one person to see them all, but don’t despair…the quest to see as many as possible is what makes life fun! If you’re looking for somewhere incredible to go on your next journey, why not try out one of these absolutely awesome places?
Although I tend to gravitate more towards cities with historical significance, a different culture, or perhaps just some incredible nature than I do “tourist cities”, I do find myself curious about Orlando. Would I like it? Would I not? I suppose one of these days I’ll have to go check it out for myself and find out. For now, let’s take a look at what Orlando has to offer on this Wanderlust Wednesday…
Niagara Falls is a beautiful, impressive, famous waterfall which is located on the border between the United States and Canada. On the U.S. side, it’s just outside Buffalo, New York, and on the Canadian side, it’s not terribly far from Toronto. I’ve always wanted to visit this natural wonder, and it would be great to combine a visit to the Falls with a tour of the region on both sides of the border. This Wanderlust Wednesday, let’s explore what a possible U.S.-Canada journey centering around Niagara Falls might look like.
There’s just something about Madagascar that intrigues me. This beautiful island off the Southeast coast of Africa is home to rain-forests, reefs, and an impressive array of unique wildlife, such as lemurs.I have a few friends who have been there and came back absolutely in love and enchanted with this place. I really hope to be able to visit for myself one day.
This Wanderlust Wednesday, let’s take a look at this amazing place in the world.
